Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
We're based in Sunbury and service the whole Macedon Ranges, including Gisborne, Kyneton, Woodend, Romsey, Riddells Creek, Macedon and the surrounding towns.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we're fully licensed and insured, ARC Licence AU068237 and VBA Licence VIC 15817.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. We run an in-house team, so the crew who quotes your job is the crew who does it, the same faces every visit.
Which brands do you work on?
All the major ones. We're factory-trained on Rinnai and Brivis, and we service and install Braemar, Bonaire, Vulcan and the leading reverse cycle brands like Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Actron.

How much does a ducted heating service cost?
We charge a set service rate for standard jobs like gas ducted heaters and evaporative cooling, so you know where you stand. Gas log fires are priced individually, since it depends on the type of unit you have. Either way, we'll always confirm the price upfront before any work, with no surprise fees.
How much does it cost to repair a gas heater?
It depends entirely on the fault and any parts needed. We diagnose the problem first and give you a fixed price before doing any work, you're never charged for a repair you haven't approved.
How much does it cost to replace ducted gas heating?
It varies with the size of your home, the system you choose and any ductwork involved, so we don't do one-size-fits-all pricing. We'll look at the job and give you a clear, honest quote, free and no-obligation.
How much is a new reverse cycle or split system?
It depends on the size and type of system and your home, so we quote each job properly rather than guessing. If you're replacing gas heating, the VEU rebate can take a sizeable amount off, which we'll work out for you. Quotes are free and no-obligation.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer flexible payment plans through Brighte, so you can spread the cost into manageable fortnightly instalments.

Servicing & repairs

How often should I service my gas heater?
We recommend a service once a year, ideally before winter. Regular servicing keeps it running efficiently, catches small faults early and, most importantly, checks it's safe.
Do you test for carbon monoxide?
Yes, every gas heater service we do includes a carbon monoxide test. It's a non-negotiable safety check and we won't skip it.
Why is my heater blowing cold air?
There are a few common causes, from ignition and flame faults to thermostat or sensor issues. It's worth having it checked rather than leaving it. See our gas ducted heating page or give us a call.
My gas heater won't turn on or ignite, what's wrong?
This usually points to an ignition, flame or pressure-related fault. Avoid repeatedly resetting it, that can hide a genuine safety issue. Switch it off and book a licensed technician to look at it.
My heater keeps shutting down or showing an error code.
An error code is the unit telling you what's wrong. You can look yours up on our error codes page by brand, then book a repair, we'll know exactly what we're dealing with before we arrive.
I can smell gas, what should I do?
Treat it as urgent. Turn the gas off at the meter if you can, don't use light switches, flames or anything that could spark, open windows and doors, and leave the area. Call your gas emergency line, then call us, do not use the heater until it's been checked.
Is a burning smell when I first turn the heater on normal?
A faint dusty smell for the first few minutes at the start of winter is usually just dust burning off and settles quickly. A strong, ongoing or electrical-type burning smell is not normal, turn it off and call us.

Installation

Can you replace my old system?
Yes. We replace old gas heaters, evaporative cooling and split systems, whether you want a like-for-like swap or to upgrade to something more efficient. See our installation page.
How do you size a system?
We size every job properly rather than guessing, taking in floor area, insulation, glazing, ceiling height and layout. The right size matters, too small won't keep up and too large costs more to buy and run.
How long does an installation take?
Most installations are completed in a day, depending on the system and your home. We'll give you a clear timeframe when we quote.
Should I switch from gas to electric reverse cycle?
For a lot of homes it makes sense, an efficient reverse cycle system generally costs less to run than old gas ducted heating, and the VEU rebate brings the upfront cost right down. We'll give you an honest view of what suits your home.

VEU & rebates

How much is the VEU rebate?
It varies by home and system, but eligible upgrades can be worth up to around $5,530, and because the Macedon Ranges is regional, rebates are often higher here than in the city. More on our VEU page.
Am I eligible for the rebate?
Most Victorian homeowners with an older heating system can access some level of rebate. The quickest way to find out is to send us your details and we'll check for you, at no cost.
Do you handle the rebate paperwork?
