    Installation questions

    How long does a heating or cooling installation take?
    Most changeovers are done in a day. A full ducted reverse cycle system in a home that has never had one, or a job needing new ductwork, usually runs across two or three days. We give you a clear timeframe when we quote, not a vague estimate.
    Do I need new ductwork when I change over my heater?
    Not always. If your existing ducting is in good condition, correctly sized and properly insulated, it can often be reused. If it is old, crushed, poorly sealed or undersized for the new system, replacing it makes a real difference to how well the system performs. We inspect it and tell you either way.
    What size system do I need?
    It depends on the space, the ceiling height, insulation, glazing and how the home is built, not just floor area. As a rough guide, a ducted system wants roughly 1.1 to 1.4kW of heating output for every 10 square metres it covers. We size it on site rather than guessing, because an undersized system will never keep up in a Ranges winter.
    Can I get a rebate on a new system?
    If you are replacing gas heating with an efficient reverse cycle system, you may be eligible for a discount through the Victorian Energy Upgrades program. Have a read of our gas ducted heating rebate page and we will check what your home qualifies for.
    Do you offer payment plans?

    Which brands do you install?

    Do you take the old system away?
    Yes. Removal and safe disposal of the old unit is part of the job, and where a gas appliance is being decommissioned we handle that properly and to the required standard.
