Why Macedon Ranges Gas & Air exists
Plenty of heating and cooling businesses travel into the Macedon Ranges. Macedon Ranges Gas & Air was created to be built around this region instead: a local team that works in these towns every day, understands the homes and the conditions here, and can get to you quickly when something fails in the first cold snap or the first hot week.
We are based in Sunbury, which puts us close to suppliers and metropolitan infrastructure and close to the towns we work in most: Gisborne, Sunbury, Kyneton, Macedon and Woodend, and the areas around them. The aim is simple. When someone in the Ranges needs heating or cooling done properly, we want to be the local name they already know.
How it started
Curtis began his career as Matt's apprentice and learned the trade from the ground up. After years working side by side they found they shared the same standards on workmanship, honest advice and looking after customers properly, and they went into business together. Macedon Ranges Gas & Air grew out of that: a heating and cooling brand deliberately focused on the local market rather than another crew driving out from the city.
The team today
The business is bigger than its founders now. It is a small, tight-knit team of local heating and cooling technicians, apprentices learning the trade the way Curtis did, and the office staff who answer the phone and keep jobs on track. Everyone is employed in-house: technicians, installers and admin. We do not subcontract installations or service work.
The team is licensed and insured for the gas, electrical and refrigerant work it carries out, and is factory-trained on the brands we are dealers for. Friendly, straight-talking local service is part of the job description.

Technicians, not salespeople
From the owners down, our people are hands-on heating and cooling tradespeople. The recommendation you get is about your house, not a target.
Design before equipment
Assessment, sizing, ductwork, airflow, zoning and commissioning decide whether a system performs. That is where we spend our time.
Straight answers
Repair first where it makes sense. Options explained plainly. We may not always be the cheapest quote, and we are upfront about why.
Factory-trained dealers
Trained by the manufacturers, buying direct
We are factory-trained dealers for ActronAir, Brivis and Rinnai and purchase equipment directly from these manufacturers.
We also install, service and repair all major heating and cooling brands.
Accountability
9Year Labour & Workmanship Warranty
It applies to the installation work our own team does. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, repairs and servicing carry their own workmanship warranty, and pre-existing or reused components are not covered by the nine years.
