Why we recommend it
One of the most advanced residential ducted systems we offer
When a Macedon Ranges home needs whole-home heating and cooling done properly, ActronAir Advance is the system we reach for first. It is designed and built in Australia for Australian conditions, which matters on a Ranges morning that starts below zero and a January afternoon in the high thirties.
It is a variable-capacity system: rather than running flat out and switching off, it adjusts its output to what the house needs at that moment. Rooms hold their temperature, the outdoor unit runs quietly, and the system spends most of its life at part load, which is where it is most efficient.
We recommend it for larger family homes, for homes where different rooms are used at different times of day, and for gas to electric conversions where the ducted system has to do everything the gas heater did and cool the house as well.
Plays from YouTube with sound The outdoor unit
Slim, quiet and built for the weather
The Advance outdoor unit is an upright cabinet with a small footprint, so it sits along a side passage or against a wall without dominating the garden. Sound levels are low enough that the position is decided by airflow and service access rather than by the neighbours.
ActronAir rates the Advance to keep heating in outdoor temperatures down to minus fifteen degrees and cooling in the low fifties, which covers every day the Ranges will throw at it. Sizing, pipe runs and the base or bracket are ours to get right, and they are part of every written quote.
- Australian designed and built
- Variable-capacity compressor: quiet, efficient part-load running
- Rated for heating down to minus fifteen degrees outside
In the roof space
The indoor unit, and the ductwork that decides the result
The indoor fan coil sits in the roof space and pushes conditioned air through insulated ducts to an outlet in each room. It is the part of the system nobody sees, and it is where two quotes for the same equipment can differ by thousands.
Every ActronAir ducted system we install gets new ductwork sized for the unit's airflow, a return air designed for the floor plan, outlets placed for even comfort, and a commissioning check of airflow at every outlet before we call it finished. That is the MRGA Standard, and the quote is built around it.
NEO controls
Control that fits the way the house is lived in
NEO is the control family that runs an Advance system. A master controller on the wall, zone controllers and sensors in the rooms, and an app that puts all of it on your phone. We set it up around your household and show you how to use it before we leave.
-

NEO master controller
The touchscreen on the wall. Temperature, mode, fan, zones and schedules from one place.
-

NEO zone controller
A small wall controller in a room, so that room can be adjusted without walking to the hallway.
-

NEO zone sensor
Reads the actual temperature in the room it is in, so the system responds to the room rather than the hallway.
-

NEO Connect app
The whole system from your phone, at home or on the way home.
NEO zone controllers, sensors and app are ActronAir products; we select the combination for your home and confirm it on the quote. NEO is the control for ActronAir ducted systems, not for wall-mounted splits, which use their own remote and the Easy Connect app.
Zoning
Individual room temperatures, not one setting for the whole house
A zoned ActronAir system lets each area run at its own temperature, or be switched off when nobody is in it. Bedrooms at eighteen overnight and the living room at twenty-one in the evening is the normal way to run the house, not a special mode.
ActronAir Advance supports up to eight zones. We design the zones around how you actually use the rooms, place the sensors where they read the room rather than a hallway or a draught, and set up day and night schedules with you at handover.
- Up to eight zones on Advance
- Each zone at its own temperature, or off
- Day and night zoning for living areas and bedrooms

Our relationship with ActronAir
Factory-trained ActronAir dealers who buy direct
We are factory-trained dealers for ActronAir and purchase equipment directly from the manufacturer. That is not a badge on a van. It means dedicated account management, direct technical support, ongoing product training and warranty support from ActronAir itself.
For you it means one phone number. If anything ever needs attention on a ActronAir system we installed, you come back to us and we work with the manufacturer on your behalf. You are never left between a retailer and a helpline.
Being close to the manufacturer matters most on a premium ducted system, because the design tools, the commissioning settings and the controller configuration all come from ActronAir's own training.
- Factory-trained on the current ActronAir range
- Equipment purchased directly from ActronAir
- Dedicated account management and technical support
- Warranty support handled through us
Dealer relationship confirmed by Macedon Ranges Gas & Air. We also install, service and repair all major heating and cooling brands.
Two warranties, clearly separated
What ActronAir covers, and what we cover
The equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty. The installation carries ours. They are different things, and your quote and paperwork name both.
ActronAir manufacturer warranty
The equipment carries ActronAir's manufacturer warranty
ActronAir backs its residential systems with a manufacturer warranty on the equipment. The current terms, period and conditions are set by ActronAir and change from time to time, so we confirm them in writing on your quote rather than summarising them here.
- Applies to the ActronAir equipment
- Administered by ActronAir; we handle the claim for you
- Current terms confirmed on your written quote
Specific warranty periods are not stated here until confirmed against ActronAir's current published terms.
Macedon Ranges Gas & Air
9 Year Labour & Workmanship Warranty
It applies to the installation work our own team does. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, repairs and servicing carry their own workmanship warranty, and pre-existing or reused components are not covered by the nine years.
- Covers the installation workmanship of our own in-house team
- Separate from, and in addition to, the ActronAir equipment warranty
- Backed by a local team that is still here in year nine
Why our installations perform
What an ActronAir installation by us includes
What a properly designed and installed system includes, and what our quote is built around.
Sized for your home, not a rule of thumb
We size heating and cooling from the home: floor area, ceiling heights, insulation, glazing, orientation and how the rooms are used. An oversized unit short-cycles and an undersized one runs flat out on the coldest and hottest days, which is exactly when you need it.
New, correctly insulated ductwork on every ducted reverse cycle installation
Ducted systems live or die by the ducts. A new ducted reverse cycle installation gets new ductwork, sized for the system's airflow, insulated to the current standard, sealed at every joint and supported so it does not sag or kink in the roof. We do not reuse old gas-heating ductwork for a new ducted reverse cycle system. When a gas ducted heater is replaced like for like, the existing ducts can stay where we have inspected them and they are suitable.
Return air and outlets placed for even comfort
Outlet positions, return-air size and location decide whether the back bedrooms are as comfortable as the living room. We design outlet placement and return air for the floor plan and confirm it with you before installation day.
Zoning and sensors where they help
Zoning lets you heat or cool the rooms you are using. Where a system is zoned we set the zones around how the home is lived in, and place temperature sensors where they read the room rather than a hallway or a draught.
