Rinnai ducted reverse cycle is one of our primary options for a whole-home system and for gas to electric conversions under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program. It heats and cools the entire house through ceiling outlets, zoned so you condition the rooms you are using, from an outdoor unit that runs quietly at the side of the house.
It is the system we recommend when a household wants dependable ducted comfort with sensible running costs and a strong support network behind it. Sized correctly and installed with new, properly insulated ductwork, it performs on a frosty Ranges morning and a hot January afternoon alike.

Built for real roof spaces
An indoor unit that gets into tight roofs
The indoor fan coil of a ducted system has to get through the manhole and into the roof space, and older Ranges homes were not built with that in mind. Rinnai's splittable ducted indoor unit separates into two sections for exactly that reason, which turns a difficult access job into a normal one.
Once it is in, the unit is mounted, connected to new insulated ductwork sized for its airflow, and commissioned with an airflow check at every outlet. The animation shows the unit splitting; the roof-space photograph shows what a finished installation looks like.
Controls
A clear wall controller, and zoning where the home has it
The Rinnai ducted wall controller is a plain, readable unit: mode, temperature, fan speed and a timer. Nothing you need a manual for. We configure it at commissioning and walk you through it before we leave.
Zoning on a Rinnai ducted system is handled separately from this controller, through a zone control system we design in with the ductwork. Bedrooms off during the day, living areas off at night, and the whole house only when you want it: we set the zones around how the home is actually lived in and show you how to run them at handover.

Wall-mounted split systems
A dependable split for the rooms that need one
For a single room, an extension, a home office or a bedroom that the ducted system never quite reached, a Rinnai wall-mounted split is a strong, sensibly priced answer. Quiet indoor unit, simple remote, and a range of capacities so the unit matches the room rather than overwhelming it.
We install them to look like someone thought about it: the indoor unit positioned for airflow across the room, pipework hidden or neatly capped, the outdoor unit on a proper bracket or base with clearance for service, and the condensate drained rather than dripped.
Multi-head split systems
Several rooms from one outdoor unit
A Rinnai multi-head system connects two or more indoor units to a single outdoor unit. It suits homes where ducted is not practical, such as a flat roof, no roof space, or a heritage home where the ceilings must stay untouched, and it keeps the outside of the house to one outdoor unit instead of a row of them.
Each room runs independently, so a bedroom and a living room can be at different temperatures or one can be off. We size the outdoor unit for the rooms it serves and explain when a multi-head is the right answer and when ducted would serve the home better.

Rinnai gas ducted heaters share their technology with Brivis (Brivis is part of the Rinnai group), and they are one of the two brands we recommend when a home's heater is due for replacement and gas remains the sensible choice. External and internal models, zoning, and a controller that is easy to live with.

Sized for your home, not a rule of thumb
We size heating and cooling from the home: floor area, ceiling heights, insulation, glazing, orientation and how the rooms are used. An oversized unit short-cycles and an undersized one runs flat out on the coldest and hottest days, which is exactly when you need it.
New, correctly insulated ductwork on every ducted reverse cycle installation
Ducted systems live or die by the ducts. A new ducted reverse cycle installation gets new ductwork, sized for the system's airflow, insulated to the current standard, sealed at every joint and supported so it does not sag or kink in the roof. We do not reuse old gas-heating ductwork for a new ducted reverse cycle system. When a gas ducted heater is replaced like for like, the existing ducts can stay where we have inspected them and they are suitable.
Return air and outlets placed for even comfort
Outlet positions, return-air size and location decide whether the back bedrooms are as comfortable as the living room. We design outlet placement and return air for the floor plan and confirm it with you before installation day.
Zoning and sensors where they help
Zoning lets you heat or cool the rooms you are using. Where a system is zoned we set the zones around how the home is lived in, and place temperature sensors where they read the room rather than a hallway or a draught.
