Split systems
Split System Repairs Across the Macedon Ranges
Not cooling, not heating, dripping, flashing an error code, tripping the power or making a new noise. Tell us the brand and the symptom and we send a licensed technician with the likely parts.
- All major brands repaired, whoever installed them
- Refrigerant leaks, fan motors, control boards, sensors, drains and electrical
- Diagnosis and price agreed before the repair starts
- Honest advice when replacement is the better money
Split system faults we repair
We repair split system air conditioners across the Macedon Ranges, from Sunbury and Gisborne through Macedon and Woodend to Kyneton, Romsey and Lancefield, with our own licensed technicians. The faults we see most:
- Not cooling or not heating. Dirty coils, refrigerant leaks, failed outdoor fans, compressor contactors, reversing valves and sensors.
- Error codes. Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, ActronAir, Rinnai, LG and Samsung all report codes on the display or by flashing lights. Tell us the code when you book.
- Water leaking inside. Blocked or poorly sloped drains, frozen coils, drain pumps on units that have them.
- Noise. Fan bearings, loose panels, a fan blade with a build-up, an outdoor unit on a loose mount.
- Tripping the power. Compressor faults, failed capacitors, damaged wiring, water in the outdoor unit’s electrical compartment.
- Short cycling or not switching on. Control board, sensor, remote or isolator faults.
- Smell. Mould in the indoor coil or drain; usually a service job rather than a repair.
How a repair visit runs
Tell us the brand, the symptom and any code when you book. The technician diagnoses the fault, tells you what it is and what the repair costs, and proceeds only when you agree. If the fault is a compressor or a major leak on an older unit, we stop and talk about replacement, including whether the Victorian Energy Upgrades program applies to it, rather than sink money into a unit near the end of its life.
Refrigerant work is done by licensed technicians, as it must be. We find leaks rather than topping units up and sending them back out to fail again.
Brands
We repair all major split system brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, ActronAir, Rinnai, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, LG and Samsung, regardless of who installed them.
Before you call
Check the switchboard for a tripped circuit, check the isolator next to the outdoor unit has not been switched off, clean the filters, and note any code on the display. If none of that helps, book a repair.
What happens when you book
From your call to a working system
We aim to get a local technician to you as quickly as possible, often same or next day where availability allows.
You contact us
Call 1300 369 400 or send the form with what the system is doing.
We book it in
You get a confirmation, then arrival-time information the day before.
Technician on the way
A text when your local technician is heading to you.
Diagnosed properly
One of our own in-house technicians finds the actual fault, not the first symptom.
Fixed on the spot where practical
We carry a broad range of common parts and aim to repair the fault there and then where practical.
Options explained
If the fix is bigger, we explain the options and the price before any work goes ahead.
Factory-trained dealers
Trained by the manufacturers, buying direct
We are factory-trained dealers for ActronAir, Brivis and Rinnai and purchase equipment directly from these manufacturers.
We also install, service and repair all major heating and cooling brands, including Mitsubishi Electric.
Questions we get asked
My split system is blowing but not cooling. What is wrong?
Commonly a dirty filter or coil, a refrigerant leak, a failed outdoor fan or compressor contactor, or a sensor fault. A unit that is low on refrigerant has a leak somewhere; simply regassing it without finding the leak is a short-term fix we do not recommend.
The unit shows an error code. Can you tell me what it means?
Each brand has its own codes. Tell us the brand and the code when you book and we will tell you what it usually indicates and arrive with the likely parts.
Why is my split system leaking water inside?
A blocked or badly sloped condensate drain, or a frozen coil thawing. Both are quick to diagnose and usually quick to fix.
Is it worth repairing a 12 year old split system?
For a fan motor, sensor, drain or contactor, often yes. For a compressor or a major refrigerant leak on an older unit, replacement is usually the better money, and the Victorian Energy Upgrades program may apply to the replacement. We tell you which before you decide.
Do you repair units you did not install?
Yes. We repair all major brands regardless of who installed them.
